Efforts made toward collision safety technology

We began manufacturing Seat belt in
1962, since that time we have introduced today's most advanced
testing apparatus, and have been proactive in our efforts to develop
collision safety technology.
Recently, in 1999 we introduced the world's largest
hydraulic collision test apparatus with which to carry out various
collision simulations, and we are promoting further technology
development. We have also made additions of the braking system
that makes the capability to conduct Airbag collision simulations
for side-impact, for example side Airbags and curtain Airbags.
In 2005, our collision test apparatus was equipped
with the latest control units, the modifications that enable the
world's most advanced level of performance, and that give us the
capability of running higher precision collision simulations and
higher grade data processing.
Reliability that is taken top priority in occupant
protection devices (Seat belt and Airbag) requires series of testing
under various conditions that simulate from the phenomenon of real
accidents. We maintain a large number of testing facilities such
as the above mentioned crash testing apparatus for evaluating the
performance of devices of passenger protection; data are collected
from every angle, and then taken in carrying out collision simulations
on a computer. The collected data are fed back into the activities
of developments and designing for application engineering for new
custom products. During the crash testing, it is possible to capture
the behavior of dummies in the 1/1000 to 1/10,000 second scale
with a high-speed camera; it is thus for us possible to verify
the shape of the cushion and deployment timing of the Airbag. In
addition, we develop more advanced Seat belt and Airbag by taking
measurements of injury value at various region of the human body
from the analysis of acceleration velocity on the dummy.
We will devote our best efforts to developing the
new generation Occupant Restraint Systems with full implementation
of CAE analysis and instrumental data analysis by our continuous
adoption of latest technology on various types of advanced testing
apparatus. |
