Sustainability Policy

We consider sustainability as one of our top management priorities in accordance with our corporate creed (corporate philosophy), which states: "1. Place a high value on trust and strive for the utmost reliability; 2. Maintain a vibrant company based on harmony and open-mindedness; 3. Be creative and contribute to society through our business activities”.
We are committed to playing our part in realizing a sustainable society by practicing our mission, vision, and values through our business activities and by solving social issues.

1.Environment
We will promote our business activities in harmony with the environment, and actively and proactively work to create a sustainable society through various measures such as product development and recycling to reduce environmental impact, including the prevention of global warming.

2.Quality
Our mission to “provide products that protect lives and livelihoods” requires all employees to recognize the importance and responsibility of ensuring quality and to act accordingly.
In order to provide safe, reliable, and comfortable products, we will act with integrity, abide by rules, and work toward manufacturing that places the highest priority on quality throughout the product lifecycle, from design, manufacturing, distribution, and disposal.
We will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by maintaining and improving quality and reducing environmental impact through employee education and training and internal public relations. We will make this policy known to all employees and all those involved in our corporate activities.

3.Human Resource Development and Diversity
Under the “Ashimori Industry Group Human Rights Policy Statement” and through the “Ashimori Renaissance Program”, we aim to create a corporate culture in which human resources can play an active role and work as a team.
At the same time, we will enhance employee training to encourage their growth and develop human resources with a high level of expertise, a broad perspective, and the ability to develop logical thinking, as well as the ability to solve problems speedily. In the development of human resources, we will fairly evaluate those who achieve results and those who spare no effort.

4.Governance
We will develop measures to achieve sustainable growth and increase corporate value, and enhance corporate governance in order to become a company that is even more trusted by all stakeholders and society.
With regard to investor relations activities, we will actively, fairly, and appropriately disclose information and respect dialogue with all stakeholders.
In internal audits, we will evaluate the effectiveness of governance processes and propose improvements with a high degree of professionalism and independence, and report to the Board of Corporate Auditors and other related parties in a timely and appropriate manner.

5.Compliance
We will comply with all laws, rules, and the spirit of such laws and rules, both within and outside of Japan, and will conduct our business activities in a fair and free manner.
We will continuously educate our employees to be thorough about compliance.
We will also strengthen our relationships with business partners in accordance with the "Declaration of Partnership Building”.

Sustainability Implementation Structure

Amidst a rapidly changing business environment, Ashimori realizes that sustainability is a key challenge toward raising corporate value in the medium and long term. We have therefore established the Sustainability Committee to make our business more sustainable than ever.
The committee formulates a basic policy on sustainable management, deliberates on sustainability-related issues, and submits reports and recommendations to the Board of Directors. We have the following sustainability implementation structure covering all Ashimori divisions and group companies for the purpose of thoroughly informing and executing sustainability policy and action throughout the Group.
