1878 Company founder Buhei Ashimori the Tenth began trading in cotton and linen.
1885 Began manufacturing cotton ropes for pulleys.
1887

Began manufacturing spindle bands for spinning.

1894 Named the company Ashimori Rope Works.
1919 Began manufacturing spindle tapes for spinning.
1935 Reorganized as a joint-stock company named Ashimori Rope Works.
1944 Changed company name to Ashimori Industry Co., Ltd.
1950 Company listed on the Osaka Securities Exchange.
1952

Began manufacturing Jet firefighting hose.

1953 Began manufacturing synthetic fiber ropes.
1960 Began manufacturing synthetic fiber canvas.

Obtained UL (U.S.A.) approval for fire hoses.
1962

Began manufacturing Auto Friend automotive seat belts.

Established Jet Trading Co., Ltd.
1966 Concluded technological agreement with Angus Fire Armour Ltd. in U.K. for a new type of hoses.
1967 Obtained JIS (Japan) approval for automotive seat belt manufacturing plant.
1968 Obtained FMVSS (U.S.A.) approval for automotive seat belts.
1969 Established Ashimori Textile Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
1970 Concluded technological agreement with Granges Essem AB in Sweden for automotive seat belts.
1972 Obtained JIS (Japan) approval for synthetic fiber rope manufacturing plant.
1976 Began manufacturing Avaline buoy line for fishing applications.
Obtained EC approval for automotive seat belts.
1977 Obtained ADR (Australia) approval for automotive seat belt manufacturing plant.
1979 Began manufacturing Tightener cargo-lashing systems.
1980

Completed development of Pipeline Automatic Lining System (PALTEM).

1981 Established Ashimori Engineering Co., Ltd.
1982 Exported Avaline manufacturing plant to A/S Fiskenvegn in Norway.
1986 Established Ashimori Real Estate Co., Ltd.
Exported Jet firefighting hose manufacturing plant to the Tianjin First Woven Belt Factory in China.
Concluded industrial agreement with Allied Signal Inc. in U.S.A. for automotive seat belts.
1987 Made PALTEM installation for British Gas in London, the first installation outside Japan.
Concluded technological support agreement with Narong Industry Co., Ltd. in Thailand for automotive seat belts.
1989 Established Ashimori Europe Ltd.

Began manufacturing air bags.

1990 Completed development of PALTEM-SZ.
1991 Began manufacturing Air Roll cargo-transportation system.
1992 Completed development of PALTEM-APOLLO.
1993 Concluded technological support agreement with Abhishek Auto Industries Ltd. in India for automotive seat belts.
1994 Exported fire hose manufacturing plant to Shanghai Huasen Fire Hose Ind. Co. in China.
Awarded an honorary “Special Prize,” Asahi Shimbun’s Prize of Invention for PALTEM-HL System.
1995 Began manufacturing piling material for a new foundation system (City Guy).
1996 Acquired ISO 9002 certification (Automotive Safety Systems Business Division).
1998 Established KPN Ashimori Co., Ltd. in Thailand.
