Contributing to Society through Sustainable Manufacturing
SDGs and Ashimori Products
Some of our businesses are closely tied to the SDGs in various fields,
such as automotive safety components and the PALTEM pipeline rehabilitation method.
Let’s look at some of these businesses.
We develop products that solve society’s problems with the aim of totally eliminating traffic accidents.
SDGs and Automotive Safety Components
Seatbelts
Since receiving JIS (Japan Industrial Standards) certification in 1967, we have been actively working on the development of next-generation seatbelts that achieve weight reductions and resource savings via the technologies we have developed.
Airbags
In addition to driver and passenger airbags, side airbags, and curtain airbags, we handle a wide variety of products, including center airbags that react to potential contact between occupants in the event of a side impact collision.
Separation Nets
These are nets that separate occupant spaces from luggage compartments, protecting the occupants by preventing loads from shifting to and entering passenger spaces in the event of sudden braking.
Making the most of our elemental technologies cultivated in the field of textiles, we are contributing to the renovation of lifeline utility services in the fields of safety and renewal.
SDGs in the PALTEM Division
We completed development of the PALTEM pipelining system in 1980 and use the various technologies and construction methods of the system to underpin lifeline utility services. This contributes to the maintenance of safe and secure lifestyles.
PALTEM is a trenchless method used to repair and renew underground pipes such as those for waterworks, sewerage, agricultural water, gas, communications, and electric power. This green construction method reduces burden on the environment.
Hose Lining Method
The hose lining method is the starting point of PALTEM. This is a construction method in which a watertight and airtight seal hose (PAL-liner) made of fibers and synthetic resin is inserted into an existing pipe using air pressure that turns this hose inside out, thus forming a new pipe on the inner surface.
Through other technologies, such as PALTEM SZ, PALTEM Flow-Ring, and PALTEM HL, we help procure safe living spaces and ensure that residents can continue to live in their neighborhoods.
SDGs in the Disaster Prevention Division
We develop products that protect people and their environments from disaster.
We successfully developed fire hoses that shoot water using low pressure. We manufacture and sell these hoses, which offer the same water discharge power as conventional hoses but with less fuel consumption, thus reducing environmental impact.
Low-Pressure-Loss Hoses
These hoses reduce pressure loss at the time of water discharge by up to about 50% and can release water farther, higher, and faster while also consuming less fuel, thus reducing the burden on the environment.
PALJET Emergency Drainage Hoses
PALJET is an easy-to-use, lightweight emergency drainage hose that allows drainage pump vehicles to take prompt action in case of floods or other disasters. This drainage hose is seeing increasingly widespread usage in battling water disasters in the face of climate change.
SDGs in the Industrial Materials Division
Labor-saving system products for truck logistics can easily be used by elderly people and women, creating a more conducive workplace for all. We manufacture and sell everything from fiber construction materials to labor-saving logistics systems.
Air Roll System Labor-saving Cargo Handling Device
This system product reduces cargo handling labor by using an air hose to raise and lower roller conveyors equipped on truck beds to smoothly move cargo. It can easily be used by elderly people and women to lessen their workload.
Palace Sheet Soft Ground Stabilization Method
The Palace Sheet structure is made up of hoses laid out in a grid over sheets. The hoses are filled with a special mortar that hardens, forming a highly rigid lattice frame that disperses the load applied to soft ground. Using Palace Sheet to reinforce the ground is ideal for temporary construction performed on soft ground.
